| 2010 GRADUATE STUDENT CONFERENCE FELLOWSHIP
Announcement: The American Association of Hispanics in Higher Education (AAHHE), Inc. is now accepting applications for the AAHHE Graduate Student Fellows Program for the 2010 AAHHE National Conference. The conference will be held March 4-6, 2010, at the Hilton Costa Mesa Hotel, Costa Mesa, California.
Fellowship Applicants will be assessed on the following criteria:
- Hispanic, Latina/o and or Chicana/o Background;
- Enrollment in full-time graduate study in a master's or doctoral program;
- Demonstration of academic potential through future career goals and past experiences;
- Aspiration to enter the professoriate and/or student affairs in higher education.
The AAHHE Graduate Student Fellowship includes:
- Conference registration fees
- Special events
- Hotel accommodations
- Travel (funds available for students unable to secure additional support from their departments)
Fellowship recipients are expected to participate in the following:
- Attend the entire conference (including special events sponsored by AAHHE)
- Provide staffing support for AAHHE activities (interact with other AAHHE members)
- Develop a Policy Brief (Memo) under the guidance of an AAHHE member
- Discuss your research with AAHHE members (e.g., thesis/dissertation topic, forthcoming manuscript, fellowship application, proposal)
Application Procedures:
To apply for an AAHHE Graduate Student Fellowship submit the following materials online no later than Thursday, October 1, 2009 by 5pm (PST):
- Letter of interest (1,500 word max)
- Resume/vita
- Letter of support (from an advisor, supervisor, or faculty member)

It is your (the applicant's) responsibility to ensure that all materials are submitted no later than Thursday, October 1, 2009 by 5pm (PST). AAHHE will notify you by November 7, 2009 regarding the status of your application.
