I. Description

The AAHHE Community Forum is a dynamic, member-driven space designed to foster connection, collaboration, and knowledge sharing within our organization. It offers a variety of discussion categories where members can engage in meaningful conversations, ask questions, share resources, and support one another across professional and personal interests. Whether you’re seeking advice, looking to network, or interested in learning from peers, the forum provides a welcoming environment to stay connected and actively participate in the life of the community.

II. Forum Topics

  • Café y Conversación - General Networking & Community ~ A welcoming space for casual networking, friendly conversations, and community building.
  • Career Resources & Professional Development ~ ​​Share and discover job opportunities, mentorship experiences, and career development insights from across the AAHHE community. 
  • Higher Ed Research Network ~ A space to connect, collaborate, and elevate Latinx scholarship in higher education. 
  • Annual AAHHE Conference Connect ~ Connect with fellow attendees to discuss current, upcoming, or past AAHHE Annual Conferences.

III. Forum Access

The AAHHE Community Forum is only accessible to current, active AAHHE members. If you are a current member and experience any issues accessing the forum, please reach out to [email protected].

IV. Guidelines

The AAHHE Community Forums are designed to foster meaningful connections, collaborative learning, and professional support among members committed to advancing Latinx success in higher education. To ensure the forums remain respectful, inclusive, and engaging, all participants are expected to follow these guidelines.

1. Core Community Principles

We expect all members to uphold the following values when participating in the forums:

  • Respect: Treat all members with courtesy and consideration, regardless of role, background, or viewpoint. Post thoughtfully, avoid excessive cross-posting, and remember that content is visible to all members.
  • Inclusion: Reflect AAHHE’s commitment to equity, diversity, and belonging. Honor the lived experiences and perspectives of others.
  • Professionalism: Contribute with integrity and collegiality. Use people’s names, acknowledge contributions, and maintain an academic and professional tone.
  • Constructive Engagement: Share questions, resources, and feedback generously. Critique ideas, not individuals, and keep dialogue solution-oriented.
2. Posting & Content Guidelines
  • Stay on Topic: Post in the appropriate forum and check existing threads before creating new ones.
  • Protect Confidentiality: Avoid posting confidential or sensitive information about institutions, students, or individuals. Do not share others’ personal details (emails, phone numbers, private messages)
  • Share Opportunities Responsibly: Job postings, fellowships, events, and calls for proposals aligned with AAHHE’s mission are welcome.
  • No Advertising or Promotions: Commercial advertising, spam, fundraising, or personal solicitations are prohibited
  • Cite Your Sources: Provide sources or context when sharing data, research, or news to maintain transparency and credibility.
  • Be Clear and Concise: Use clear subject lines and concise posts to keep threads organized.
3. Content Oversight


AAHHE may move or remove any posts that are off-topic, unprofessional, promotional, or otherwise misaligned with the purpose of the forums. Repeated violations may result in removal from the community. Harassment, discrimination, or other misconduct will not be tolerated and will be addressed in accordance with AAHHE policies.
