Curriculum & Instruction
University of Nevada, Las Vegas

Claudia Chiang-Lopez is a first-generation student and immigrant from Mexico. At UNLV, she is a Ph.D. student in Teaching and Learning and an instructor for the Interdisciplinary, Gender and Ethnic Studies department. Their dissertation will focus on learning more about disabled people who were pushed out and later returned as educators, an experience that she identifies with since Claudia is a disabled Queer educator of Color, who was pushed out of traditional education. Claudia is also working with an undergraduate researcher on a project looking at issues of gender, race, and sexuality in figure skating. Her free time is taken over by her two cats and watching many figure skating competitions. They’re excited to build comunidad with their AAHHE cohort.
