Cristina García, MA

Founder & CEO
Conéctate Green Strategies, Bell Gardens, CA

Cristina Garcia is the founder and CEO of Conéctate Green Strategies, a consulting firm focused on environmental justice, climate policy, and community engagement across California. Her work builds on a decade of service in the California State Assembly, where she earned a reputation as a fearless advocate for clean air, clean water, women and girls, and government transparency.

Elected in 2012 after fighting local corruption in the City of Bell, Garcia passed landmark legislation including reducing toxic air pollution, mandating PFAS testing in public water systems, phasing out harmful incinerators in vulnerable communities. She also helped secure hundreds of millions in funding to clean up lead contamination from sites like Exide. In addition, she helped usher through multiple landmark climate change bills. Garcia championed reproductive and gender justice, eliminating the tax on menstrual products, mandating ingredient disclosure, and passing the world’s first law against “Stealthing.” She expanded the Legislative Women’s Caucus from 26 to 58 members and reformed ethics laws to restore public trust in government.  Rooted in Bell Gardens, where she still lives, Garcia brings her values and experience as a math teacher, daughter of immigrants, and community leader to every initiative she leads—bridging grassroots activism with state-level impact.
