Dr. Marie Mora is Deputy Provost and Professor of Economics at the Metropolitan State University of Denver. She has previously held leadership positions at the University of Missouri – St. Louis, including Associate Vice Chancellor for Strategic Initiatives and Provost & Executive Chancellor for Academic Affairs, and at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.

A labor economist, Dr. Mora has been invited to share her research expertise on Hispanics/Latinos with institutions and agencies across the country, including the White House and the Federal Reserve System Board of Governors. Dr. Mora is a founding member and former President of the American Society of Hispanic Economists. Her prior board service includes the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas San Antonio Branch Board of Directors, and others.

Among her numerous recognitions are the Presidential Award for Excellence in Science, Mathematics, and Engineering Mentoring (White House); Outstanding Support of Hispanic Issues in Higher Education Award (American Association of Hispanics in Higher Education); Cesar Estrada Chavez Award (American Association for Access, Equity, and Diversity); and Distinguished Alumnus (Department of Economics, University of New Mexico). Dr. Mora earned her Ph.D. in Economics from Texas A&M University, and B.A. and M.A. degrees in Economics from UNM.
